Respect– Fundraising will respect the rights and dignity of donors, beneficiaries, and the public.
– Activities will not be unreasonably persistent, intrusive, or place undue pressure on people to donate.
– Decisions to not donate or to cease donating will be respected.
– Beneficiaries will not be presented disrespectfully in promotional activities. Where possible, beneficiaries will have input into promotional strategies.
Honesty & Integrity– Fundraising will occur in an honest and truthful manner.
– Fundraisers will not misrepresent the charity, its needs, or how funds will be applied.
– Questions about activities and costs will be answered honestly and in a timely manner.
– Information about the charity’s purpose and activities will be freely available.
– Donations and gifts will be used for their intended purposes.
Transparency & Accountability– The charity will take responsibility for its actions and provide clear explanations and justifications.
– Trustees and management will account for the charity’s actions to donors and the public.
– The charity will operate openly, ensuring that transactions, operations, and communications are easy to understand.
– Donors and the public will be informed of the fundraising cause and how donations are used.
– Accessible ways to contact the charity will be provided.
– A procedure will be in place to address complaints.
