About our Shelter
Welcome to NWspca Welfare Centre, an Animal Welfare Gorey organisation based in Gorey, Co. Wexford. We are located behind Gorey Veterinary Hospital. Our small centre relies on a team of dedicated volunteers who look after the dogs and cats surrendered to the organisation.
- Rehoming: Every year, we re-home hundreds of cats and dogs, giving them a second chance for a new home. We operate a no-kill policy.
- Trap/Neuter/Release (TNR): We operate a trap/neuter/release programme for feral and community cats at Animal Welfare Gorey, neutering/spaying them to ensure they remain healthy and do not produce numerous homeless kittens. Contact us for further information.
- Animal Welfare Inspectors:Our inspectors investigate reported cases of animal cruelty. The service can be contacted through the emergency response line: 087 639 2531.

Your generosity helps us provide vital care and support for animals in need through Animal Rescue Gorey and Animal Welfare Gorey. Every donation goes directly toward rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals, as well as funding essential programs like neutering, microchipping, and cruelty investigations. We are fully transparent about how funds are used, and together we can give these animals a second chance at life and the loving homes they deserve.

We primarily care for cats and dogs, but we also provide support and advice for other animals when possible.
Yes, our Kennels and Cattery are open every day at the following times:
9:00–10:30 AM, 2:00–3:30 PM, and 6:00–7:30 PM.
You can make a donation through our bank account, PayPal link, or by visiting our charity shop on Rafter Street. Every contribution helps us care for the animals.
The adoption process involves filling out an application, discussing the suitability of the pet with our team, and a brief home check to ensure the pet will be in a safe environment.
To volunteer, simply contact us via phone, email, or our social media channels. We’re always looking for passionate individuals to join our team and help make a difference!
Adoption Process
- We arrange a meeting with an adoption manager and the animals
- Adopting a dog involves a home check
- You get to take the animal on a trail
- Adoption form and €100 homing fee
- Microchip transferred.
