Who Are We?

With over 77 years of dedication, the NWspca Welfare Centre is a community-driven organization based in Gorey, North Wexford. Entirely run by 100 volunteers, we have no paid employees, ensuring that every resource goes directly toward helping animals in need.

Facilities include a Cattery, Kennels, and a Charity Shop.
Primarily caring for cats and dogs.
Helping approximately 500 animals annually.
Following a philosophy of Rescue – Rehabilitate – Rehome.
Proudly operating as a “No Kill” Shelter.

What types of animals does the NWSPCA care for?

We primarily care for cats and dogs, but we also provide support and advice for other animals when possible.

Can I visit the kennels and cattery to see the animals available for adoption?

Yes, our Kennels and Cattery are open every day at the following times:
9:00–10:30 AM, 2:00–3:30 PM, and 6:00–7:30 PM.

How can I make a donation to support NWSPCA?

You can make a donation through our bank account, PayPal link, or by visiting our charity shop on Rafter Street. Every contribution helps us care for the animals.

What is the process for adopting a pet?

The adoption process involves filling out an application, discussing the suitability of the pet with our team, and a brief home check to ensure the pet will be in a safe environment.

How can I volunteer with NWSPCA?

To volunteer, simply contact us via phone, email, or our social media channels. We’re always looking for passionate individuals to join our team and help make a difference!

Please be aware that not all of our animals will be in the shelter , some will be in foster homes.

Our Commitment to the Community

Adoption and Rehoming

We facilitate the adoption of cats and dogs, giving them a second chance at loving homes. Our team also takes in pets that can no longer be cared for by their owners and assists potential adopters in choosing a pet that fits their lifestyle and needs.

Lost and Found Assistance

Our centre helps reunite missing pets with their families and assists in finding lost animals. We actively post photos of missing or found pets on our social media platforms and take in stray animals, ensuring they are safely reunited with their owners whenever possible.

Subsidised Spaying and Neutering

To reduce overpopulation, we provide subsidised spaying and neutering schemes for both cats and dogs. This service helps control pet populations while improving the overall health and well-being of animals.
