Caring for Animals in Need
At NWspca Welfare Centre, our dedicated team ensures the well-being and care of every animal that comes through our doors. Our kennels and cattery facilities, located adjacent to Gorey Vet Hospital on Coach Road, Gorey, operate 365 days a year, providing essential services to animals in need.
Our Daily Operations
- Opening Hours: Our facilities are open three times daily: 9-10:30 am, 2-3:30 pm, and 6-7:30 pm.
- Dedicated Volunteers: Each shift requires a team of 2-3 volunteers per building, with 5-6 volunteers working together to ensure smooth operations.
- Animal Care: Dogs and cats are fed in the morning and afternoon, while dogs are walked during all three shifts. Each animal is given tender loving care (TLC).
- Veterinary Care: Animals are taken to the vet as needed, whether for scheduled visits or emergencies, under the guidance of our Kennels/Cattery Manager.
- Rehoming Efforts: We strive to help as many animals as possible. Animals are microchipped, vaccinated, and treated for parasites before rehoming. Whenever possible, they are also spayed or neutered to prevent overpopulation.
Making a Difference
We work tirelessly to provide the best care for the animals at our shelter, while managing waiting lists for those in need of rehoming. Every animal is treated with respect, love, and compassion, ensuring they are ready for their new forever homes.
